KGB: Killer Gourmet Burger

Overview:
"KGB or Killer Gourmet Burger is a pork-free fast casual burger joint situated in the heart of Bangsar serving fresh ground beef burgers and a variety of flavorsome fries to complete your meal. KGB burgers will keep you coming back for more."

From doughnuts, to bubble teas, and now burgers. Burger trends have been the latest craze lately in the Klang Valley, so much so that burger joints are popping up like mushrooms after the rain and there seems to be a never-ending bee line in almost all the popular burger joints, including KGB.

To cater for growing demand, KGB has recently added on new items to their menu and extended their opening hours to include lunch time during Fridays and weekends.

All the burgers are priced at a range from RM12.90 to RM21.90 ala carte. If you told me a year back that I have to pay more than RM10 for a burger, I'd say you're mad. But now, all popular burger joints are priced about the same range.

You can also choose to order a set for an additional RM5.50 which includes fries and a drink. A stand-out factor for KGB is that they have a selection of fries ranging from Salt and Pepper, Herbed, Spicy Cajun, and Malt Vinegar depending on your preference. My personal favorite would have to the Spicy Cajun. Nevertheless, the choice of fries does not include the specialty fries.

One more factor worth mentioning, especially for you butter lovers is that the bun of the burgers are brimming and oozing with butter! So much so that the white parts of the bun are yellow in color and from the first bite into the burger, you would not miss the distinctive fragrance of the butter.

Below are some of the burgers we tried.

Bella Bomb Tower (Grilled grassfed beef, 2x Portobello with triple stuffed cheese and shack sauce) + Herbed Fries
[RM21.90 (Ala carte) + RM5.50 (Drinks + Fries)]

Bash Burger (Grilled grassfed beef, beef bacon relish, provolone cheese, caramelized onions, maple baked cornflakes) + Herbed Fries
 [RM18.90 (Ala carte) + RM5.50 (Drinks + Fries)]

Bella Bomb (Vegetarian) (2x Portobello with triple stuffed cheese and shack sauce) + Herbed Fries
[RM15.90 (Ala carte) + RM5.50 (Fries + Drink)]

Branded KGB bun

Burgers reminded me of a line from one of the episodes of 'How I Met Your Mother' series on Marshall's love for burgers which I think justifies every burger-lovers thoughts.

"Marshall: Just a Burger? Just a burger. Robin, it's so much more than "just a burger." I mean...that first bite—oh, what heaven that first bite is. The bun, like a sesame freckled breast of an angel, resting gently on the ketchup and mustard below, flavors mingling in a seductive pas de deux. And then...a pickle! The most playful little pickle! Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and a...a patty of ground beef so exquisite, swirling in your mouth, breaking apart, and combining again in a fugue of sweets and savor so delightful. This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread, Robin. This is God, speaking to us in food.
Lily: And you got our wedding vows off the Internet!?"
